Client :
MTO
Project Duration :
6 weeks

Problem :
The client wanted a website that could assist customers in calculating material requirements. Specifically, they needed a manual calculator where customers could input floor or area dimensions and instantly receive the number of product units required.
The main challenges were:
Integrating the calculator functionality seamlessly into the site.
Ensuring the design remained simple, intuitive, and user-friendly while handling technical calculations.
Organizing product categories in a way that did not overwhelm users.
Solution :
To address this, I designed and developed a custom calculator tool that allowed users to enter dimensions manually. The system automatically calculated the required product quantity, removing confusion and saving time for customers.
From a UI/UX perspective:
The calculator was placed in a visually accessible position on the site.
The input fields were clearly labeled and optimized for ease of use.
Categories were strategically aligned and structured, making the overall layout look clean, systematic, and professional.
This design ensured that even non-technical users could interact with the calculator effortlessly.
Challenge :
The biggest challenge was balancing functionality with simplicity.
Too much technical detail risked making the interface confusing.
On the other hand, oversimplification could compromise the accuracy of calculations.
Additionally, keeping the UI consistent while introducing a new functional tool required thoughtful alignment, spacing, and visual hierarchy to maintain a professional look and feel.
Summary :
By integrating a custom manual calculator with a clear, structured design, I successfully helped the client provide a practical yet user-friendly solution.
The systematic arrangement of categories and the intuitive UI made the website both functional and visually appealing, improving the overall user experience and achieving the client’s goal of guiding customers through product selection with ease.
